Lisa Schott named Engineer of the Year

February 21, 2009

Lisa Schott, President and Principal Acoustical Consultant of QMN received the Engineer of the Year Award for Technical Excellence from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Florida Section.  She was honored at the Engineers’ Week Banquet at Buena Vista Palace Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

QMN named to the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center project team.

QMN has been named to the project team for the design and construction of the new Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center. As a subcontractor to Artec Consultants, QMN will be the local acoustical consultant assisting with the acoustical design, noise and vibration isolation, overseeing good acoustical practices during construction, and testing and commissioning of the facility. QMN President Lisa Schott appointed to Georgia Tech George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board

QMN President Lisa Schott has been appointed to the Georgia Tech George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board. The Board includes corporate executives and industry leaders, most of whom are Georgia Tech alumni. The group meets annually in Atlanta, Georgia to provide guidance and direction to the nationally renowned engineering school from the perspective of business and industry. This ensures that the Georgia Tech mechanical engineering academic program remains current and relevant to todays rapidly evolving technology community. Volunteer Advisory Board members typically serve for several years.

QMN President Selected for Council of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni at Georgia Tech

Lisa Schott, President and Principal Acoustical Consultant at Quietly Making Noise, LLC has been selected for membership in the prestigious Council of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni at Georgia Tech. The award is reserved for alumni of the College of Engineering under forty years of age who have distinguished themselves through professional practice and/or service to the Institute, the profession, or society at large. It is awarded to only a few Georgia Tech alumni each year. Lisa will be inducted into the Council on November 4 in Atlanta. The ceremony also includes the induction of the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni (which is a similar award for those over 40 years of age) and the Engineering Hall of Fame (Georgia Tech's highest honor for lifetime career achievement).
